Introduction

I don’t know many people who enjoy looking for a job. It’s stressful. It can be harder than finding a prom date the night before prom, and you don’t have a car, or a tux or dress, and you have a nasty pimple on your forehead. Of course, you could pop it, and it would be painful and leave a scar and you might be nicknamed scarface for the rest of high school, or you could leave it alone and be zit-face. The choice is yours!

Well, maybe it’s not that bad. I don’t know too many people who want to relive their teenage years. But the point is, finding a job is about like finding a life partner, or maybe a future ex-spouse. Many people settle. Many people enter into the equivalent of what turns out to be a dysfunctional relationship.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Through this blog, I hope to be able to introduce techniques, ideas and strategies that will help you to not only find a job, but find the right job for you. Your job does not have to be the grind of daily dysfunction that you may be experiencing if you can find strategies for weeding out the losers in the interview and application process. Feel free to use these tips on first dates as well!

Finally, I hope that this blog assists you after you have found a job as well in terms of evaluating and making good strategic choices with your career. Yes, just like a bad marriage or a relationship that has run its course, it is good to evaluate if in fact “should I stay or should I go?
